Groups at state and federal levels have put in work to ensure there are good places for veterans to be laid to rest when they pass away. Utah is in the process of getting its first federally funded veterans cemetery, a sensible project in a state with a high population of former service members.

The Department of Veterans Affairs Cemetery Administration is reviewing suitable sites for a new cemetery in Cedar City, Utah. This is part of a project designed to ensure rural communities have access to good burial plots in peaceful surroundings.

At present, the only veterans cemetery in Utah is run by the state. With almost no plots left there, the time has come for a federal site to open.

Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more veteran and first responder news from around the country.
