The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Crisis Line is a vital service designed so that those who have served their country always have someone to turn to at their lowest points. Efforts to strengthen and improve the line are therefore always welcome.

The VA recently cut the ribbon on a second office for the Crisis Line. Now there are over 500 call responders and almost 80 social service assistants on staff, nearly double the amount available when there was only one call center.

The Veterans Crisis Line deals with high volumes of calls, and government bodies have taken action to ensure it can handle the needs of the veteran population. Congress recently passed legislation to ensure there is a plan in place to respond to more calls, more quickly.

Thanks for watching, we’ll see you next time with more veteran and first responder news.
