It’s been 75 years since the attack that drew the United States into World War II, and this is a good time to look back and honor veterans who served in that conflict.
Just about every community around the country has a population of vets who participated in World War II. Many of these towns and cities are finding unique ways to honor their residents. For instance, the Florida Elks Association arranged to make sure Tampa-area vets could make the trip to Hawaii for a Pearl Harbor remembrance parade.
The Hawaii gathering boasted a crowd of 7,000 at the commemorative ceremony and many more lining the parade route. These kinds of gatherings show that more than seven decades on, the valor of World War II vets hasn’t been forgotten.
