Seasons greetings!

Thanksgiving is traditionally a day away from work to celebrate with family and friends. For firefighters and other first responders this isn’t always the case, though. Because Thanksgiving is when America experiences the most house fires, many firefighters spend the holiday on call at the station house. That doesn’t mean they can’t still celebrate.

There’s nothing stopping firefighters from preparing a Thanksgiving meal together at the station house. They can capitalize on the holiday spirit of togetherness to cook a tasty dinner.

If possible, they could also invite a few friends and family members to share this meal at the fire station. This way, no one has to worry about spending the holiday away from loved ones.
