Veterans should stay alert when being contacted with special offers or business deals. Some scammers have begun to specifically target veterans. These criminals use a number of different approaches to try and steal from their victims.

Some fraudsters pretend to be Veterans Administration officials. They ask vets to update their credit card information, enabling them to steal the victim’s identity.

Others offer instant-approval loans for military personnel that come with exorbitant fees to extract money. Still others have concocted fraudulent investment plans, promoting the services only to vets.

Taking financial advantage of former military members is a brazen and cruel crime, but there are those out there willing to commit it. Veterans should be wary to ensure they don’t fall victim to these schemes.

Thanks for watching, we’ll be back with more veteran and first responder news.
