When veterans need health care, they often head to the V-A. There, they can receive many kinds of treatments, but a lot of former servicemembers also say they have trouble getting around those facilities.

Fortunately, a volunteer’s solution may solve a lot of those problems.

In Eugene, Oregon, veterans complained about getting around the sprawling new V-A care center, so James Shulfer had an idea.

With a bus stop nearly 200 feet from the V-A’s front doors, and the closest handicap parking space about half that distance away, he would drive disabled veterans around the facility in a golf cart.

By doing so, Shulfer and other volunteers are making the lives of many disabled veterans just a little bit easier.

Thanks for watching, and be sure to check back to learn how other ordinary people help veterans in their everyday lives.
