Lawmakers are often inclined to help veterans struggling with PTSD, but one proposed measure to do so was recently cut out of a federal budget bill.

Originally, some lawmakers had written a rule that would allow VA doctors to prescribe medical marijuana in pill form for vets with PTSD, in states where pot is now legal.

However, that allowance was cut from the VA’s proposed budget in late June.

The annual budget bill passed soon thereafter, meaning it could be another year before the topic comes up again.

U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer and Sen. Jeff Merkley, both representing Oregon, called the removal, “Outrageous.”

The move came despite broad bipartisan for medical marijuana support expressed in both the House and Senate, prior to the actual vote.

Thanks for watching, and be sure to check in again for more news on the legal proceedings around the VA.
