Since it was upgraded after 9/11, the GI Bill has been an enticing reason for many people to join the military, but now veterans are concerned those benefits could be cut back.

Earlier this year, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to cut some of the funding in the GI Bill, specifically as it relates to housing subsidies for veterans’ children.

Unfortunately, lawmakers say they see this as a “common-sense” move to reduce costs.

However, some estimates show that the previous funding tended to dramatically overvalue the cost of room and board. As of now it’s unclear how much this change will affect veterans.
