Most people know that veterans will go to great lengths to help each other, but how about this length: More than 1,000 miles.

That’s how far Army and Navy veteran Marty Wills walked from his home in Michigan to Camp Lejeuene, North Carolina earlier this year.

{scribe} He began his journey in February to raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder, which affects so many people like him.

In all, it took about 60 days to walk that far, with a 60-pound backpack of supplies. Wills shared updates along the way via Facebook.

He met with lots of people along the way, and was given a deceased veteran’s Purple Heart to carry on the trip as a token of honor.

These kinds of efforts are to be admired, and the vets and others who undertake them should be celebrated.

Thanks for watching!
