Before your significant other leaves, take note of the household responsibilities he or she usually takes on. If your wife typically gets the kids off to school, have her write down the standard morning routine so things can go smoothly in her absence.

Additionally, it’s a good idea to acquire a list of responsible, trustworthy babysitters. You probably won’t realize how much extra help you’ll need until your spouse is gone, so it’s useful to have these numbers at the ready.
