Greetings, and welcome back to our series on veteran associations to join in your life after service. Last time, we discussed the American Legion. Now, let’s take a look at the Disabled American Veterans.

This group, for soldiers who were disabled during their service, not only brings injured veterans together, but helps support them and their families as well. DAV is run by a group of advocates who are all veterans themselves.

They are dedicated to providing former servicemembers with everything from counseling to help filing for disability compensation. Last year, the group helped members get over $4 billion in benefits.

Thanks for listening. Check back soon for more tips and advice on making the transition to civilian life.
