Doing everything possible to ensure the security of computer files and personal information is important. However, few veterans have the proper training to properly keep up with cybersecurity.

Interestingly, though, many experts say the skills vets learned in the military suit them well for this work.

Cybersecurity is often about vigilance, and many vets know the basics of data analysis and teamwork, which is often needed.

Teamwork is important because it only takes one weakness for a system or computer to be hacked.

But if everyone is on the same page about keeping passwords updated and being careful about what they download, that’s a huge first step.

Veterans can also potentially better identify threats as they emerge, rather than just reacting to those that have already appeared.

Thanks for watching!
